Is it free to get quotes?
Yes. Posting a shipment, comparing quotes and messaging companies costs you nothing. You only pay the transport company you choose, on the terms written in their quote.
Will my phone start ringing after I post?
No. Companies never see your phone number, email, name or exact addresses. They see the route (city, state or province, and the first part of the ZIP or postal code), the vehicle, your dates and your photos. They answer in writing inside your dashboard. Your details go only to the company you book, or to a company you choose to share them with.
Who sends the quotes?
Auto transport carriers and brokers that we have checked: US companies with an active USDOT number (and MC authority where it is required), Canadian companies with an NSC or CVOR number, and proof of insurance on file. You can see these details on every quote.
How do I pay for the shipment?
You pay the company you book directly, the way their quote says (for example a small deposit at booking and the rest on delivery). CarShipping247 does not charge you anything and never asks for your card.
How do companies pay for CarShipping247?
Companies keep a prepaid balance with us. When you accept a company's quote, a commission comes off their balance. Companies that do not win pay nothing, so nobody pays to "buy" your phone number.
What is the difference between open and enclosed transport?
Open carriers are the multi-car trucks you see on the highway: the most common and usually the lowest price. Enclosed trailers protect the car from weather and road debris and suit classic, luxury and low cars, and they usually cost more.
How long does shipping take?
It depends on distance, season and how flexible your dates are. Each company writes its pickup window and transit time in its quote so you can compare them side by side.
Can I ship a car that does not run?
Yes. Mark it as not running in the form so companies can bring a winch and quote accordingly.
Can I ship between the US and Canada?
Yes. Pick the state or province at each end. Cross-border moves need extra paperwork (title, export and import documents); companies that handle cross-border work will say so in their quote.
What should I do before pickup?
Wash the car so damage is easy to see, take your own photos, remove personal items and toll tags, leave about a quarter tank, and be ready to sign the inspection report (bill of lading) with the driver at pickup and delivery.
What if something goes wrong?
Note any damage on the inspection report at delivery and take photos. Then open a dispute from your dashboard. Our team reviews it with both sides, and a company's rating and standing on CarShipping247 depend on how it handles problems.
Can I message companies before I choose?
Yes. Every quote has its own message thread. Phone numbers, emails and links are hidden automatically until you decide to share your contact details.
How many quotes will I get?
It depends on the route and timing. We cap the number of quotes per shipment so you get a short list to compare, not a flood.
Can I cancel?
Yes. You can cancel any time before pickup from your dashboard. If you had already booked, the company is told right away.
Ready for quotes without the phone calls?
Post your shipment in about two minutes. It costs nothing to get quotes.
